The dominant culture around meditation in the West is rooted in productivity. Meditation is a practice found in so many cultures and religions. In yoga, meditation or dhyana allows us to find unity between the mind, breath, senses and ego.

When we slow down and separate ourselves from our thoughts we can create more space, more options, and more freedom to have sovereignty over our lives. In Neuroscience terms, we’re building new neural pathways – our brains can change + adapt (woo neuroplasticity!) and heal from trauma.

The purpose of meditation is to live fully in the moment and be present through all experiences of life.

Our mind and our body are inherently connected – the practice of meditation brings us back to our bodies and spirit
